On The Down Side

there were vaccination needles...3 of them

there was a lot of crying on Sadie's part

a lot of guilt on my part

a 2:30 AM wake up call

a 5:00 AM wake up call

some throwing up, and a lot more tears

an uncomfortable nap in the rocking chair

On the Up Side

she didn't have anywhere to go,

nothing to explore,

no major feats to attempt,

and so I got to hold her for as long as I wanted to.

Just that one thing? you ask.

Just that one thing was worth all the rest.
