Pauline's Friend

She offers to share her table when the restaurant is full.
And she shares stories of her life.
She grew up beside Blind Man River. When she was a young girl, she wore bob skates to skate on the lake. She remembers a time when you could have a whole beach to yourself, with just your family and a picnic. When she was older she'd picnic overlooking Elbow Falls with a friend who would later become her husband.
She has white hair, a wise, well-lived face and pink lipstick. She drives from Calgary to Cochrane on Saturday mornings to have a coffee and butter tart at the Home Quarter Pie Shoppe.

Every day offers a gift. Yesterday, she was ours.

As you said, perhaps her name was Grace, and from her I learned that I take my relationships with my family members for granted. She was indeed a gift! thank you Jen!
