In the days after you were born, I made a lot of promises.

I promised to teach you manners, to allow you to express yourself and to respect you as an individual. I promised to make your days happy, and your nights sweet. I promised to offer you comfort, to teach you kindness, and to be a better woman for you. I promised to let you know every day how wonderful you are.
